Below is a sampling of interior design projects, from new construction to finishing touches – and everything in between.
Updated great room from a 1970's den. Natural gas fireplace replaced a dusty lava-rock stove, walls were opened with large windows, and state-of-the-art audio/video includes a built-in TV that lowers.
A deco-era turquoise bathroom was lovingly restored. Re-grouting, repairing cracked tile, and playfully updated with modern wall art. Eclectic colors are accentuated for a vintage-fun child's bathroom.
Farmhouse kitchen remodeled down to the wall studs, opening the once U-shaped space. Induction range, LED lighting, built-in appliances, and reclaimed materials re-make an outdated 1980's kitchen.
Small water closet gets huge impact with a vintage tropical wall panel purchased from eBay. The panel is only 54" wide and perfect for the tiny room. Entry door gets punch of bright green to ease into the room.
Guest house kitchen gets updated on a budget with painted cabinet bases, new white cabinet doors and drawers, and white bead board applied to the island and backsplash. Light quartz freshens the counter tops.
Large art studio, complete with bathroom, kitchenette, heat/air-conditioning, and skylights ... created from an open garage structure. Enclosing the carport added over 600 square feet of usable space.
Guest bathroom gets a modest renovation with non-custom-made cabinets. Inexpensive mirrors are from a local hardware store. Slate floors are skid-proof for wet feet coming in from the outside pool area.
Wine Country retreat master bedroom gets comfy four-post bed in charcoal gray. Walls are covered in neutral-color grapevine motif wallpaper imported from Britain. Extra-tall white wainscoting is a country-modern touch.
A covered porch is the perfect place for a nap on hot days, or sleeping alfresco. The twin-sized pine swing bed was ordered on eBay and the pillow covers were custom made from a seamstress on etsy.
Whether neutral or bright, color and textiles can enhance a space and speak to the user's personality. An office daybed gets some personality with bright linen and tactile, imported wool pillows.
Rustic home gets transformed from a vacation place to a full-time residence. Transitioned from cabin-themed to a comfortable living space with lighter paint colors and simplified accessories.
A dark guest bathroom was refreshed in bright white plank board walls, and a custom vanity. 2" thick reclaimed quartz countertop adds a substantial quality. Open vanity cabinets for a casual user-friendly charm.
Shower detail showing classic basket weave tile motif in limestone mosaic, combined with less expensive ceramic tiles in large brick-shaped and square sizes. Taupe-color grout blends the materials seamlessly, and doesn't stain.
Spanish revival living room with eclectic and natural touches in wicker, rusty metals, silk and wool. Large room is made cozy by furniture placement that surrounds the charming vintage fireplace.
A much-needed powder room was carefully carved from extra space in the laundry room of a Wine Country get-away. Includes a wink to farm land whimsy with cow wallpaper imported from the UK.
Boys' bedroom includes matching twin beds covered with steel gray and a hint of bright color. Reclaimed wood foot benches are resting spots for shoes, Nerf Guns, and a variety of other inevitable floor clutter.
Once painted oxblood red, powder room still has impact, but now with more interest. Small spaces can have big appeal with large-scale wall pattern. While the pattern is bold, the neutral color palette keeps it reserved.
An old fiberglass shower stall gets updated with a contemporary mix of glass, tile and slate. The slate was inserted as 2" deco pieces on the walls, 4" on the shower floor, and large 16" on the bathroom floor.
Craftsman home great room with a family-friendly touch. Upholstered cubes add seating for the kids, and microfiber chenille sofa has washable slipcovers. The sofa is 50" deep for movie watching in the evenings.
